2012

The CTO has hosted Commonwealth Professional Fellows for eight years which has enabled the participants to expand their horizons on various aspects of ICTs for Development, while also learning about the Organisation.

Through the Commonwealth Professional Fellowship programme, Conciliation Resources has been able to develop the knowledge and skills base of the partners in their professional fields of work. This process has provided crucial support to the Fellows for better management and operations of their work and hence for contributing to the development of their home regions.

Our Professional Commonwealth Programme enables Fellows to acquire the skills and resources so that they can introduce evidence-based family interventions to mental health services within their own countries through the training of staff. It also enables support programmes to be developed for the families and carers of those with mental health difficulties.

NHS Bristol is delighted to be working with Kenneth Mwehonge from HEPS, a Ugandan healthy policy and advocacy NGO. This placement builds on a previous link between our two organisations. We will be working with Kenneth to improve our own knowledge and understanding of global health issues, and to support Kenneth in his own skill development to contribute to his organisation’s work towards improved health outcomes and life expectancy in Uganda.

A one-month programme of expert seminars, visits, workshops, guided study and networking with (predominantly) Scottish organisations working on climate change and bioenergy issues. Based at the University of Edinburgh, it enables mid-career professionals involved in climate change and bioenergy to contribute to national policy formulation and capacity development.
