Development Training Programme 2019-2020

CSC Virtual Engagement Programme

With the unfolding Covid-19 crisis in the UK, the CSC took the decision in mid-March to cancel all planned face to face events for the rest of the academic year to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our Scholars and staff involved in delivering these events, and to comply with Government guidance. Since then we have been looking into alternative ways of ensuring Scholars and alumni can continue to network and engage with each other through our events and training, and therefore we are pleased to announce the start of our Virtual Engagement Programme of events, activities and training for 2020.

Our first virtual site visit chats are taking place with Scholars based at Liverpool Hope University, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the University of Liverpool.

With further site visit chats planned throughout May and June, we hope you will be able to join CSC staff and fellow Scholars at one of these informal meetups.

Monday 4 May also sees the launch of the ‘Understanding Development Impact’ training on FutureLearn. All Scholars are warmly invited to participate in this training which we hope will inspire your development ambitions and enable you to forge invaluable connections with other Scholars. If you have not yet received your invitation email from FutureLearn, please email .

In the coming weeks we will also be offering further virtual development training opportunities in collaboration with our educational providers. In the meantime, if you wish to let us know how COVID-19 has changed your research arrangements, or how you have been involved in the fight to tackle COVID-19, we’d be very glad to hear from you. Please email for any interesting stories you’d like to share.

More information will be made available on this page soon.
