Writing and Communicating in Diverse Environments online workshop

Date
06/08/2020

Time
15:20 - 17:30

This workshop is designed to help Scholars refine their professional communication and writing skills in a non-academic environment. During the workshop Scholars will learn what is meant by ‘communication’ in a professional context; how academic and professional communication styles differ; the key types of communications to expect and produce in a professional workplace; how expectations vary in teams; and common issues that might be faced when writing in professional contexts.

By the end of the session Scholars will have gained practical experience in recognising their own communication style, and will understand how to adjust their communication style to get the right result in different environments, how to pinpoint breakdowns in team communications, and how to identify and avoid common ‘academic’ communication pitfalls.
