Clare is a Commonwealth Scholar from Uganda, studying an MSc in Oil and Gas Engineering at Robert Gordon University. Her background is in petrochemicals and she previously worked as a Research Officer at the Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum.


Shadrach is the joint Coordinator for Scotland and is currently completing a PhD in Public Health at the University of Glasgow. Shadrach was previously a 2012 Commonwealth Shared Scholarship, completing a Masters in Public Health at the University of Glasgow

Event ideas:

  • Regional welcome for Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows in Scotland – an annual event to give Scholars and Fellows the opportunity to get to know each other and welcome new Scholars and Fellows in the region.
  • Send-off event for Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows – an annual event held every July.
  • Visits to heritage sites and other places of interest
  • Dinner get-together events to be held at different locations within the region
